ICCA Quarterfinals 2004 @ Penn State

We went down to PSU in January, and we sang Porcelain, Copacabana, and I Wanna Dance. We mopped the floor with Amazin' Blue and the MSU Acafellas, winning 1st place, Best Soloist (Adamon Copa), Best Vocal Percussion (V on life), and best arrangement (Christy on Wanna Dance). Josh, Roel, and Clark all came to cheer us on. That was one of the best times I've ever had in the group.

Ohio University

i have like 8 million hilarious memories but i'll start out with this one.

when we went to Ohio university freshman year (april of 2003) and got a) a standing ovation, b)sang an extra song just cause the audience thought we were THAT good and c) travis telling me that "i hope next year our relationship can be not so much president/secretary as president/intern."

American University

During Spring Break Tour in 2001, we went to American University to sing with arguably the worst group we have ever sang with, On a Sensual Note. Five guys, absolutely miserable. Aimee stayed in the van because she felt nautious, All Your Base Are Belong to Us was on the windows, and the buses had paintings of buses on the side. OASN had a huge following despite their misery. Their best song was Ben Harper. I still have their CD in my basement at my parents house, and I pop it in every once in a while when I'm depressed so I know that, hey, life's not so bad.

oh my goodness.

i do not even remember who we'd sang with that night or even where we were..rhode island, perhaps, or boston...anyway the group wanted to take us to Ben and Jerry's afterwards for free ice cream...

well stephanie and i sat at a table across from hammar and travis, and we were sitting and enjoying our ice cream when suddenly stephanie noticed that mallika was standing behind her, engaging in an entirely separate conversation with someone else, holding stephanie's hair in her hand. then she'd drop stephanie's hair, and then pick it up and hold it again. not talking to stephanie, talking to someone else, just dropping and picking steph's hair up.

it was hilarious at the time. were we drunk? i dont think so. lol. hammar and travis did not get it.

Atonal bitches

We were in rehearsal up on North Campus my freshman year, and the girls were going over a tough rhythmic part of a song, so they were speaking the rhythm instead of singing it. Clark looked at them, then turned to me and said "Atonal bitches."

ICCA 2003

Champaign-Urbana, February 15, 2003. DJ's offers the setlist of Hangin' Around, Ev'ry Time We Say Goodbye, and Tonight and the Rest of My Life Remix. After we perform our set, we all run off the stage, V certainly the most excited of the bunch. He tries to cut the brick wall as a skateboarder---except his chin plays the part of skateboard and he cuts himself open. We don't place, but Maria gets runner up for best soloist.

Amazin' Blue gets 2nd place to a homer crowd that chooses Rip Chords for first place. Gimble is their general awkward self during the concert as well as at the afterparty. After the concert, at the afterparty, Noah Binke Miller comes up to Maria and says, "Hey, nice job on your solo. Too bad you weren't as good as me." Chotchaaay.

Then, I turn the music off, remind people that 1) it's someone's birthday, and 2) everybody DANCE. Then, Hammar tries to dance with Whitney but gets denied. AB admits to us that when the words "University of Michigan" were uttered for second place, they thought we were getting announced. Thanks for the consolation, AB. We avenge you in the end and always forever after.
